On street lights following triple tragedy: Only registered firms should install solar
Green Energy Association of Sabah (GENS) President Edward Chua
Kota Kinabalu: The government is urged to immediately enforce regulatory compliance for all solar street light (SSL) installations in Sabah.

Green Energy Association of Sabah (GENS) President Edward Chua, in making the call, said the installation jobs should only be awarded to companies registered with the Energy Commission of Sabah (ECoS) under the photovoltaic (PV), contractor (on-grid and off-grid) licence.

“And further, awarding authority must also ensure that the relevant requirements as enforced by ECoS, NISOH, SESB, and Bomba are strictly adhered to,” said Chua.
GENS made this call following the electrocution deaths of three people while installing SSL in Ranau recently.
