SANDAKAN: The newly upgraded Community Hall of Rancangan Rumah Murah Sim-Sim will benefit the people, said Tanjung Papat Assemblyman, Datuk Frankie Poon.
The hall is the only community centre available for weddings and various community-related events in Kampung Sim-Sim.
Poon took the initiative to improve the hall’s facilities using his State Assembly Fund allocation to ensure the comfort of the local community.
“This community hall is frequently used by the villagers for various events such as meetings, social gatherings, weddings, and community activities,” he said.
“Before the upgrade, this hall was dilapidated,” Poon said after inspecting the completed upgrading work.
The upgrade includes the installation of air conditioning, rewiring and lighting installation, repainting the entire building, replacing the main door with an aluminium glass door, replacing the ceiling, and reinforcing the stage structure.
“All these efforts were made to ensure that the community hall remains comfortable, safe and fully equipped for community activities,” he said.
