Group lodges report against Fahmi Reza for insulting royalty
Gerakan Kuasa Rakyat Malaysia chairman Zulkarnain Mahdar (centre) has called for graphic artist Fahmi Reza, who is in Sabah, to be deported to West Malaysia.
Kuala Lumpur: An NGO has lodged a police report against controversial graphic artist Fahmi Reza for allegedly insulting the royal institution over the appointment of Musa Aman as the next Sabah governor.

Gerakan Kuasa Rakyat Malaysia (G57) is also demanding that Fahmi, who is currently in Sabah, to be deported to Peninsular Malaysia.

The group’s chairman, Zulkarnain Mahdar, also accused Fahmi of provocation through his latest caricature which, he said, insulted the former Sabah chief minister.

“I would like to advise Fahmi against insulting the people of Sabah. Don’t test our patience,” he said outside the Sri Petaling police station today.

Musa, whose appointment as Sabah’s 11th governor was announced on Dec 17, takes over from Juhar Mahiruddin, whose term ends on Dec 31.

Last week, it was reported that Fahmi was being investigated by Bukit Aman for sedition, among others, over his latest graphic.

G57 also lodged a police report against an individual known as “Linus”.

Zulkarnain said “Linus” had, in a WhatsApp group, inferred that corruption was involved in Musa’s appointment.

He claimed that the individual was linked to a Sabah-based party.

“I have provided the police with evidence and I hope that MCMC (Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission) and the police will work together to prevent this person from playing up 3R (race, religion and royalty) issues,” he said.
