Kota Kinabalu: Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat) Petagas Chief Mohd Isquzawan Israq is confident that voters in Putatan will support Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) candidates in the coming state election.
He anticipates a positive reception for GRS’s chosen candidates, citing strong existing community support for the coalition.
Isquzawan highlighted the importance of fielding a diverse range of candidates, reflecting the Undi18 amendment lowering the voting age.
He emphasised the need for a mix of experienced and young candidates, capable of effective leadership and decision-making.
He noted that approximately 60pc of Petagas voters are aged 45 and below, making youth representation crucial.
“We aim for candidates who can garner support across all communities and ethnicities in Petagas,” Isquzawan said at a church decorating competition in Kampung Duvanson.
He added that the final candidate selection rests with the GRS leadership.
The competition, funded by Gagasan Rakyat Petagas, attracted around 200 participants from various age groups and ethnic backgrounds.
