LAHAD DATU: Vision School Sandakan Archery Team were crowned as Overall Champs at the Lahad Datu Archery Talent Identification Championship 2024 after a comprehensive win in their final tourney for the year.
The championship held on 27th and 28th December attracted 100 top and upcoming archers from Kota Kinabalu, Sipitang, Papar, Tuaran, Tawau, Sandakan, Kunak, Kinabatangan and Kudat.
The Vision School Archery Team brought home seven gold, two silver and four bronze medals from various age groups in this competition.
Caleigh Chong Ky Ne (Under (U) 10 Girls), Nicholas Yeo Kah Hsien(U-12 Boys) and Eunice Hing Xin Ning (U-12 Girls) brought back two gold medals each in their respective Qualifying Rounds (QR) and Olympic Rounds (OR).
Caden Yeo Kah Han (U-15 Boys) brought back the other gold for the QR together with a bronze for the OR.
Meanwhile, Joshua Hon Yu Shen (U-12 Boys) won Bronze in QR and Silver in OR. Vianca Wong Jie Enn (U-15 Girls) won silver in her QR and bronze in her OR, whilst Joshua Chong Yao Jet (U-15 Boys) brought back bronze in his QR and obtained 4th placing in his OR.
Zachariah Lai Ao Jie (U-10 Boys) achieved a respectable 4th placing in his QR and 5th in his OR, whilst new archer Bryan Hiew Jun Hao (U-15 Boys) came in 8th in his OR and 10th in his QR.
Another first-time archer in Jeazel Charryissa Yukin (U-10 Girls) obtained 12th in her QR and 9th in her OR.
