KOTA KINABALU: Sabah PKR has rejected the idea of waiting two more years for a leadership election to decide the Sabah PH coalition's top position.
Sabah PKR secretary Sazayle Donol Abdullah questioned the legitimacy of Upko President Datuk Ewon Benedick as Sabah PH chairman, saying the decision now lies with PH Chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Sazayle criticised the recent election process, questioning the credibility of an unknown organising chairman from Kuala Lumpur and the representation of only six members from each component party.
The comments were made after Sabah PKR chief Datuk Mustapha Sakmud and other leaders met with Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor at Sri Gaya on Friday.
Sabah PKR remains firm that Upko should not chair Sabah PH, with Sazayle insisting the issue is internal and does not disrupt ties within the coalition.
