KOTA KINABALU: Federation of Chinese Associations Sabah (FCAS) President Tan Sri TC Goh said that FCAS, in partnership with the City Hall (DBKK), will host the 2025 Year of the Snake Spring Festival Carnival from Jan 24-26 at Merdeka Square.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor will officiate the carnival’s opening on Jan 24, while Kota Kinabalu MP Datuk Chan Foong Hin, who is also Deputy Plantation and Commodities Minister, will be the event's guest of honour on Jan 25.
Goh highlighted the strong support of Chan, who praised FCAS’s dedication to preserving Chinese culture and traditions during a courtesy call by the event’s organising team on Saturday.
The three-night carnival will feature lion dances, cultural exhibitions, school performances, food stalls, and interactive activities to create a vibrant Lunar New Year celebration.
Goh expressed confidence that the event would attract diverse community participation, showcasing the richness of Chinese culture and fostering unity in Sabah.
