MEMBAKUT: The community in this area will soon benefit from comprehensive sports facilities with the construction of the District’s Sports Complex, costing RM13 million, scheduled for next year, said Membakut Assemblyman, Datuk Dr. Ariffin Arif.

He said that funding for the project would be allocated under the State Government’s Additional Spending Plan (ASP) in June next year.

“The Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, has in principle agreed to include a special allocation for the development of the Membakut District Sports Complex, alongside the Sook District Sports Complex.

“The designs and allocations for both the Membakut and Sook complexes will be identical, and they will be included in the ASP in June next year.

He said that the state government has allocated RM6 million for the construction of this infrastructure, which will commence next year once all related processes are completed.

“The new District Community Hall will be built on the same site, and the demolition of the old hall will begin soon so that the project can proceed.
