Kota Kinabalu: The government will fully implement the use of e-invoices to replace paper and electronic documents such as in the PDF, JPEG, and DOC formats beginning on July 1, 2025.
Deputy Chief Minister II Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam said this initiative will be applied to all transactions between sellers and buyers including in property management.
“The implementation of e-Invoices will enhance efficiency and streamline business operations for taxpayers, while also improving tax compliance.
“Among several key benefits of e-Invoices, including reducing manual processes and errors, simplifying tax return submissions, improving operational efficiency, and digitizing tax and financial reporting,” he said.
Joachim, who is also the Minister of Local Government and Housing, said this during the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding and Service Agreement with four new partners and the launch of the e-Invoice system through the GoNet app here, on Tuesday.
