PENAMPANG: Datuk Seri Azizah Mohd Dun wants the Institute for Development Studies (IDS) Sabah to intensify its research initiatives to accelerate the State’s development.

“We need to examine where we have gone wrong in our work,” said the IDS Chairperson, calling for a thorough evaluation of past approaches during her mandate address at Wisma IDS, here, Thursday.

While acknowledging that eight out of Malaysia’s 10 poorest districts are located in Sabah, she said it is important to have practical research that delivers tangible results.

“Our studies must be relevant, effective and implementable, not just theoretical proposals that look good on paper but prove unrealistic in practice,” she said.
