Four injured in early morning crash in Tawau

TAWAU: Four people were injured, including one reported to be seriously hurt, after their vehicle was believed to have skidded off the road at Kampung Jawa, Jalan Mawar, around 4.40am on Sunday.

District Fire and Rescue Station chief Jemishin Ujin said all victims received initial treatment before being rushed to Tawau Hospital via ambulance and the Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) unit.

He said his team used specialised equipment to free a man trapped in the driver’s seat.

Meanwhile, three adult women in the Proton Gen 2 vehicle were freed by members of the public before the fire department’s arrival, though details of the victims were unavailable.
