PITAS: Three more temporary evacuation centres (PPS) in Pitas District, housing 816 flood victims, were closed at 2pm today as floodwaters receded and weather conditions improved.

The evacuees, consisting of 311 heads of households, came from various areas including Kampung Sibaung, Taka, Bawang, and others.

Meanwhile, in Paitan, five PPS's housing 472 victims were also closed at 2pm as floodwaters started to recede.

Local authorities, including the district Civil Defence Department, have been providing essential supplies and conducting hygiene checks at the evacuation centres.
