Manggatal slashing incident settled amicably
The offence, under Section 325 of the Penal Code, carries seven years, and liable to a fine, on conviction.
Kota Kinabalu: A 36-year-old man was freed from a charge of causing grievous hurt to another man.

Sessions Court Judge Amir Shah Amir Hassan discharged and acquitted Azlan Nahar after hearing submissions from both parties.

Before making the order, the court reminded Azlan to comply with agreement with the victim such as to pay compensation to the victim who agreed to receive the compensation.

The compensation was paid through a cheque.

During the proceedings, the victim present in court, told that he wished to settle the case amicably.

He agreed to receive compensation from Azlan.

Both Azlan and the victim shook hands as a sign that they have settled the matter peacefully.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Nurul Shafeerah Mad Iskim appeared for the prosecution while counsel Lim Chun Yuan appeared for Azlan and counsel Mohamad Syazwan Shah for the victim.
