SANDAKAN: Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Datuk Ewon Benedick proposed the construction of a Rest and Recreation (R&R) area at Mile 32, here.
He said it was for the convenience of road users and local traders, particularly small entrepreneurs.
The identified area is located near the Agro Bazar and will serve as a one-stop hub with various facilities.
Ewon explained that the R&R is not part of the Pan Borneo Highway construction project.
He made the statement during a press conference after officiating the Lion Dance Opening Ceremony for the Libaran Parliament in conjunction with the Chinese New Year at Bandar Utama, Mile 6, on Tuesday.
