Woman injured in early morning crash on Kunak-Lahad Datu road

KUNAK: A 46-year-old woman sustained injuries after the Perodua Aruz she was travelling in was involved in an accident at KM28 Jalan Kunak-Lahad Datu early Thursday morning.

District Fire and Rescue Department Chief Mohamad Omarbatha said they received an emergency call through the station’s hotline at 1.01am.

A team of firefighters was deployed to the scene using an FRT engine and an EMRS vehicle.

The vehicle is believed to have skidded off the road and sustained severe damage.

"There were seven people in the vehicle, but only one sustained injuries and was rescued by members of the public before the fire brigade arrived," he said.

The EMRS team initially treated the injured victim, who was brought to the hospital for further treatment.
