SANDAKAN: A 77-year-old man experienced a terrifying moment after crashing into a bank's front glass panel in Bandar Prima here on Saturday.
Acting District police chief Supt Ramasamy Kuppan confirmed the senior citizen was uninjured, though his vehicle sustained damage from the collision.
Preliminary police investigations revealed the incident occurred around 8am when the car driven from Taman Rimba to Bandar Prima veered onto the pavement and struck the bank's glass facade.
In a statement on Saturday, Ramasamy said the case is classified under Rule 10 of the Road Traffic Rules 1959 for failing to control a vehicle while driving.
He added that no criminal elements or sabotage were detected during the investigation.
