SANDAKAN: A tour bus carrying 17 Chinese tourists crashed and skidded near a shop on Jalan Lintas Sibuga, Mile 8, here, on Sunday.
District Fire and Rescue Department chief Severinus Sainkui said they received an emergency call at 9.15am and dispatched eight personnel to the scene.
Also assisting were the Civil Defence Force, police, and the Health Ministry.
There were 18 people involved, including the driver, all of whom were taken to the Duchess of Kent Hospital by passers-by and ambulance crews before fire units arrived.
The Fire and Rescue team then carried out an operation to clean up spilt oil using water from the fire engine's tank.
The operation was completed safely by 10.42am.
The 63-year-old driver sustained serious injuries, while six tourists, including 13 adults and four children, suffered minor injuries.
