Hiker rescued from Mount Kinabalu after losing consciousness

RANAU: A 22-year-old female hiker was rescued from Mount Kinabalu on Sunday after falling unconscious at Sayat-Sayat Checkpoint.

The hiker was reported to have breathing difficulties.

A team of mountain rescue specialists from the Fire and Rescue Department, local guides, and medical personnel responded to the emergency call at around 9.20am.

The hiker was carried down the mountain using a piggyback carry method and transferred to an ambulance at Timpohon Gate.
