Win only option for Sabah FC

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah FC’s only option is to win the second leg of the Malaysia Cup semi-final against Sri Pahang FC at the Temerloh Municipal Council Stadium tonight if they have interest in the Cup final.

Assistant head coach Alto Linus said his players have no choice but to work hard and try to win the game following the 1-1 draw in the first leg tie played at Likas Stadium two weeks ago.

“Our main mission tomorrow night is definitely to search for the win and earn a place in the final… We have not been to the final stage for a long time, the last time we managed to achieve that was 22 years ago.

“This will be a big moment for us to ensure that all Sabahans’ dreams of seeing the team appearing in the Malaysia Cup final will come true,” he said on Saturday.

“It will not be an easy match because we also know that Sri Pahang FC have the same goal as us to reach the final.

“They definitely have their own plan for this match, but we must stay positive and focus on achieving victory even though we are playing away from home,” he added.

Hopefully head Coach Martin Stano too has a trick or two up his sleeves.
