SANDAKAN: A body of a local man was found in a decomposed state in a single-storey wooden house in Sri Taman Batu 3 1/2 on Sunday.
Sandakan District Acting Police Chief, Supt. Ramasamy A/L Kuppan said information from the public was received at approximately 11.30 am.
“The police received information from the public stating that there was blood dripping from the floor of the house where the man lived.
“Acting on the information, the police arrived at the scene of the incident and found that there was a foul smell coming from inside the house,” he said in statement.
After the door of the house was successfully opened, the police found the body of a 47-year-old local man, lying down and already beginning to decompose, found in a room of the house.
The body of the deceased was then sent to the Duchess of Kent Hospital Forensic Unit for an autopsy.
Ramasamy said based on initial police investigation there are no criminal or malicious elements.
