Mining graft: Bung accuses GRS of ‘fabricating a script’
Bung urged the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to take immediate action and bring all involved to justice without compromise.
Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Umno Chief Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin accused the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) government of allegedly attempting to defame Umno State Assembly members.

He expressed disappointment and regret after reading a Malaysiakini report that exposed the alleged attempt.

Bung Moktar, who is also Lamag Assemblyman, described such action as immoral and disgraceful, claiming that those involved were willing to fabricate a script solely to protect their positions in the Government.

“I demand an explanation from one GRS assemblyman, who was mentioned in the report, regarding allegations that he was involved in preparing the script to link Umno assemblymen to this issue,” he said in a statement, Monday.

Commenting further on a viral video involving a corruption scandal linked to Sabah assemblymen, Bung claimed that the issue was becoming increasingly undeniable.

He urged the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to take immediate action and bring all involved to justice without compromise.

“Those guilty must be held accountable. Do not attempt to run away or make excuses when the truth is exposed,” he said.

He said this issue is expected to remain a focal point in Sabah’s political landscape, with growing demands for authorities to take immediate action against those involved.
