Kota Kinabalu: Local documentary “KITA - Sabah Celebrating Diversity” will be screened at “SkyArena” on Friday 07 Feb 2025.
Funded by Finas and produced entirely by local Sabah crew, this documentary was nominated for Best Documentary at Festival Filem Malaysia ke-33 (FFM33).
Admission is free.
“This inspiring 1-hour 45-minute film showcases the strength, beauty, and richness of Sabahans unique cultural diversity, as told through the real-life stories of 10 ordinary Sabahans,” a statement said.
Shot across 16 stunning locations in Sabah and Kuala Lumpur, this film took two years to complete, with 10 months of filming in 16 different locations around Sabah like Kota Kinabalu, Penampang, Papar, Keningau, Kundasang, Ranau, Kota Marudu, Sandakan, Semporna and others.
A collaboration with the Sabah Unity in Diversity Community Partners (SUIDCP), this documentary highlights Sabah’s shared values of unity and harmony, offering perspectives that resonate with everyone.
With a “U” certification, it’s a film for all ages, featuring BM voiceover with interviews in BM, English and Mandarin, and trilingual subtitles, ensuring it’s accessible to everyone.
