Kota Kinabalu: The Philippine Embassy in Malaysia is extending a helping hand to Filipinos in Sabah by bringing consular services directly to them.
Dubbed Consular Outreach Mission, the event is scheduled on February 8 to 10 in Kota Kinabalu City. It is to assist Filipinos in the state capital and nearby areas who need to access consular services such as passport renewal, report of birth, and travel document processing.
The consular mission is particularly timely given the travel requirements imposed by Malaysia, ensuring Filipinos avoid potential issues with their documentation.
The Embassy emphasises that securing an appointment for these services is free.
Payments for notarial and civil registry services will be collected with expedited processing fees for services rendered beyond regular hours, including weekends, as per Department of Foreign Affairs Circular No. 2024-0391 dated May 3, 2024.
The consular mission is a testament to the Philippine Embassy’s dedication to serving its citizens in Malaysia, particularly those residing in Sabah.
By bringing essential services closer to the Filipino community, the Embassy aims to make accessing these services more convenient and accessible.
While the Embassy encourages Filipinos in Sabah to avail of this opportunity, it is important to note that the appointment slots are limited due to high demand.
