PENAMPANG: Parti Kerjasama Anak Negeri (Anak Negeri) Supreme Council member Dr Edwin Bosi is demanding a clarification from the Sabah Government regarding a promised RM1,000 financial aid package for families affected by last year’s devastating floods in Penampang.
Edwin alleged that ruling party leaders assured flood victims of State Government assistance, leading to high expectations among villagers after local officials documented property losses.
However, more than a year later, no aid has materialised.
“Villagers are expressing widespread frustration, still awaiting the promised RM1,000,” Edwin said.
He questioned whether the pledge was merely an empty promise. “Was the RM1,000 cash assistance promised to flood victims a fake promise?”
The former Kepayan Assemblyman highlighted the urgent need for assistance, particularly in light of recent flash floods.
He urged the State Government to not only deliver the original pledge but to double the aid to RM2,000 to help families replace essential items such as clothing, kitchenware, furniture and damaged electrical appliances.
