RANAU: Fire and Rescue personnel had to act swiftly after a trailer loaded with gas cylinders caught fire here, around 9.30am, Tuesday.
Ranau Fire and Rescue Chief Ridwan Mohd Taib said the incident happened in front of the weekly Ranau Tamu Ground, about 1km from the fire station.
“We received a call at 9.23am through the station line and a group of seven personnel led by operation commander Mastin Suli rushed to the scene.
“We found a truck carrying a load of LPG gas barrels had burned 10pc in the back.
“The extinguishing operation uses one auxiliary flow from the fire rescue tender.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported,” he said, adding the operation ended at 9.40am after ensuring that there were no other hazards present.
The cause of the fire and loss are under investigation.
