KUNAK: Road concessionaire Pembinaan Kekal Mewah acted immediately on a complaint by a Daily Express reader about the waterlogged pothole-ridden road along Jalan Sapang 1, near the Maybank Kunak branch.
District Council Executive Officer, Mohd Nazri Pintal, said the complaint was taken seriously by the firm overseeing and repairing roads within the local authority’s jurisdiction.
“They (concessionaires) assured they are looking into the matter and will take immediate action,” he said, Thursday.
“Daily Express is a powerful and professional media outlet. That is why most complaints and problems are quickly addressed by the relevant agencies.
“Thank you to all parties who cooperated,” said the complainant, who wished to remain anonymous.
The complainant said the damaged road, frequently waterlogged after raining, served as the main exit from the commercial area of Bangunan Sapang, near here.
Recently, pothole-related issues have become a hot topic, including on social media.
