JKKK heads, ketuas must know their boundaries
Abidin receives StarSabah membership forms from residents in Kg Tiang Lama.
RANAU: Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister, Datuk Abidin Madingkir, said it is the duty of the JKKK Chairmen and Village Heads (KK) to help each other so that the village development agenda can be implemented smoothly.

“These two leaders must also know the boundaries of their respective duties so that misunderstandings can be avoided. “Many problems will arise if there is friction among village leaders. It will also hinder village development. “I call on all villagers, forget past disputes and start a new chapter that prioritizes village unity and harmony for the common good,” said the Paginatan Assemblyman when officiating the Majlis Pemimpin Bersama Rakyat held at the Kg. Tiang Lama recently.

Abidin, who is also the Vice President of StarSabah, received new membership forms from 30 supporters.

"There is no doubt that Tiang Lama is a stronghold of StarSabah. This was proven in the last PRN16 when we won in style. We will continue this momentum in PRN17. "We are grateful Kg. Tiang Lama remains under the Paginatan constituency even though there was talk at one time that it will be moved to the Tambunan constituency. "The transfer of areas requires complicated management. In addition to the need for a referendum, it also needs to be brought to the DUN Meeting and requires cabinet approval," he said.

Abidin stressed that the current Government is a GRS government of which one of its components is the Star Party, and the 2025 budget, which is the highest in history, can only be continued if GRS is once again given the mandate to govern Sabah after the 17th PRN.

“Therefore, continue to support the GRS government for the continuation of the development that has been planned by the government. Do not forget that Sabah is our home, and our home, we are the ones who take care of it.

“StarSabah is very lucky to have a president who has a vision and mission that goes far ahead. “StarSabah president Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan is a true pioneer for the rights of Sabah and has been very consistent from the past to the present. We will continue to support the struggle and leadership of our president,” he said.

Chairman of the JKKK Kg. Tiang Lama, Fabian James, hoped that Abidin's visit would bring about changes to Kg. Tiang Lama, especially the access road to the village.

According to KK Kg. Tiang Lama, Puyus Dabal, among the village's plans is to form of the Taralamas Cooperative, which will venture into tourism, agriculture and cattle farming, which is expected to be carried out on a 500-acre site.

"We also hope to get a network of plantation roads. We will propose to the logging company to implement the construction of this plantation road.“We also also hope to shorten the journey to Ranau town by building a road through Kg. Longut.  We will also buy an excavator machine (Hitachi) for the needs of the village.

He also hoped residents here would get involved in Guarana cultivation. “We are requesting the assistance of the YB so that each family can get a supply of seeds if this crop gets approval from the Department of Agriculture to be planted,” he said.

Abidin told the residents that the Guarana crop is still in the research process of the Department of Agriculture where it is also still facing legal problems.

“We will help the residents of Kg Tiang Lama with the supply of Guarana seeds when the related problems have been resolved. “We will also provide a letter of support to the village so that the maintenance of the Kg. Tiang Lama access road is given fully to JKR Ranau. “For the infrastructure of Taralamas River Canyon, Chairman Tagal is called upon to make an application to the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment and we will give full support,” he said.

At the ceremony, Abidin had time to approve the allocation for the construction of the village Hall veranda, sepak takraw court and rice grinding machine for the use of the residents of Kg. Tiang Lama.
