SANDAKAN: Minister of Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship, Datuk Phoong Jin Zhe has visiting Maxland Auto Sdn Bhd at Palm Oil Industrial Cluster (POIC) Sandakan, where an exciting milestone in Sandakan’s industrial growth is taking shape—the establishment of the state's first electric vehicle (EV) assembly plant.
Having recently secured its Federal Manufacturing License (FML) from MIDA last year, the company is now poised to spearhead Sabah’s green industrialisation.
Maxland Auto is laying the foundation for a more sustainable and innovative future, driving advancements in clean energy transportation while fostering economic growth and job creation in Sabah.
"My ministry, along with other relevant agencies, is fully committed to facilitating and supporting initiatives like Maxland Auto, as well as other invesment, to ensure they receive the necessary support to thrive in Sabah," he said after the visit, Saturday.
Accompanying the minister on this visit were Datuk Thomas Logijin, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship Sabah (MIDE), Walter Kenson, President of Sandakan Municipal Council (MPS), Rodolfo Blantocas, Director of the Department of Industrial Development and Research (DIDR), Joseph Benjamin, Director of the Malaysian Investment Development Authority Sabah (MIDA) and George Wong, Deputy Chairman of Invest Sabah Berhad.
