KOTA KINABALU: Tawau will host the Sabah Games (SAGA) XI this October. Sabah Youth and Sports Minister, Datuk Elron Angin said the proposed date for the 11th edition of the biennial SAGA is October 11 to 17.
“Tawau District will be the host for the third time. The last time it played host was the seventh SAGA in 2015 and the third Games in 2007.

“The Games this time will be participated by 30 teams with additions from Sook district and also Paitan as a new full district.
“25 events will be contested compared to 22 sports events in SAGA X 2023.
“There will be an increase in events and medals too, that will be won by the winners,” he told a press conference after chairing the Sabah Sports Main Committee (SAGA) XI Tawau 2025 Meeting.
Elron added, the 11th edition of SAGA is expected to be a talent hunt.

“We hope that the organisation this time will be able to identify the talents. Next we will train them to compete at a higher level, not only at the national level, but at the international level,” he added.
Also present were the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Datuk Mansur Asun and the Director of the National Sports Council (MSN) of Sabah Mohd Asneh Mohd Noor.
