Kota Kinabalu: Sabah United Chinese Chamber of Commerce President Datuk Michael Lui said Sabah must continue to review and improve the Sabah-Malaysia My Second Home (Sabah-MM2H) to ensure it meets the long-term needs of the State’s future development.
“We must continue to review and improve the Sabah-MM2H such as deposit and agency and other related issues to make the Sabah-MM2H programme perfect.
“This is so that the Government and related businesses can continue to ensure that the Sabah-MM2H is more flexible to meet the long-term needs of Sabah’s future development,” he said in a statement, Saturday.
He welcomed the belated implementation of the Sabah-MM2H which was finally announced by Sabah Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Seri Christina Liew.

“Although we are late compared to the peninsula and Sarawak, we must ensure the enhanced Sabah-MM2H programme is in competitive advantages so that we can compete with regional countries and achieve the predetermined goals,” said Michael, who is also Kota Kinabalu Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KKCCCI) President.
“We have always emphasised that a perfect Sabah-MM2H programme will attract more international new residents with investment intentions and capital inflows and further promote economic growth.
“We believe that Sabah-MM2H is a catalyst for economic recovery after the epidemic, especially in promoting the development of Sabah’s tourism industry and stimulating other sectors such as real estate, medical care and education, which can bring very positive economic and development effects.
“We must introduce the world to Sabah’s unique charm through this Sabah-MM2H, promoting to the world Sabah’s vibrant cultural heritage, breath-taking landscapes folk culture, magnificent natural scenery and warm and diverse communities, social harmony, racial harmony, living environment, food, local customs and other human resource advantages that we are all proud of.
“Sabah will definitely be an ideal home in the eyes of foreigners,” he said.
