Kota Kinabalu: The countdown has begun for the 35th SGCC Amateur Open Championship 2025, set to take place at Sabah Golf and Country Club from Feb 21 to 23.
As the tournament approaches, excitement is mounting among amateur golfers preparing to compete on one of Sabah’s most iconic courses.

The total prize pool for this year’s tournament stands at an impressive RM50,000, with the champion taking home US$1,000.
Participants will also have the chance to win Huawei watches, Nexen tyres, and daily lucky draw prizes, ensuring that every player walks away with something.
In addition, all golfers will be welcomed with an exclusive goodies package worth RM700, making this one of the most rewarding amateur tournaments in the region.
All available slots for the tournament have now been filled, reflecting the overwhelming response from the golfing community.

This year’s championship will also see participation from 25 junior golfers from the National Junior Development Programme, adding an exciting dynamic to the competition as these rising talents compete alongside seasoned amateur players.
