TAWAU: The relevant authorities are urged to repair the severely damaged Ladang Sin Onn Tiku road, affecting plantation operators here.

Sri Tanjong Assemblyman, Justin Wong, said the road is the main route for plantation operators and a crucial access to several palm oil collection centres.

“The road has not been maintained for a long time, resulting in severe damage, potholes and uneven surfaces, causing regular vehicles to take 30 minutes to cover a mere six-kilometre stretch and small cars may not be able to pass through at all.

“Since last year, the condition of this road has worsened, especially over the first 2km, where the gravel, soil and sand surface has completely eroded, exposing large stones. “Heavy vehicles and cars are forced to slow down and brake continuously for about 10 minutes just to get through that first 2km stretch,” he said on Wednesday.
