SANDAKAN: Politeknik Sandakan Sabah (PSS) won the Best Product Award at the The Apprentice PolyCC Product Challenge during the three-day Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Carnival at Politeknik Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin (PTSS) in Arau, Perlis, recently.
The event was organised by the Student Recruitment and Development Division (BAPP), Department of Polytechnic and Community College Education (JPPKK), through the Entrepreneurship Unit at PTSS.
PSS showcased four innovative products that demonstrated their commitment to quality and creativity — High Fibre Cookies under the supervision of their lecturer, Ts. Nurul Safeza; Instant Creamy Scallop Soup and Fish Choc Chip Cookies under the guidance of Asmahani Asmara, and Shrimpzest Premix Powder under the guidance of Fazilah.
This achievement is a recognition of the efforts and innovations displayed by the PSS community, especially the lecturers and students involved.
It also highlighted PSS’s commitment to fostering an entrepreneurial culture among students.
Some 27 Polytechnics and Community Colleges from across Malaysia competed in the carnival.
PSS, located in Sandakan Education Hub, is a higher education institution under the Higher Education Ministry, offering Diploma in Agrotechnology and Diploma in Aquaculture Technology programmes. It is also the only polytechnic in Borneo offering these two programmes.
