SANDAKAN: Police always appreciate the role of both government and private media practitioners operating in the Sandakan district in disseminating right and accurate information to public.

Sandakan District Police Chief, ACP Abdul Fuad Abdul Malek said the media practitioners here have significantly assisted and provided close cooperation in reporting news whether related to crime or the police’s success in handling various cases.

He also commended the Sandakan media practitioners for adhering to the eight codes of journalistic ethics throughout their duties.

“During my tenure here, I have never once felt slighted or angry with the journalists in Sandakan. “This is because all journalists understand and practice the eight codes of journalistic ethics in their assignments. “Besides reporting authentic news, they understand the confidentiality of sources and the laws related to their scope of work,” he said.
