Scheme ups public awareness of government initiatives
Kota Kinabalu: Inclusive participation from all parties in the Ukhuwah Madani programme helps foster closer community engagement while serving as a platform for the people to better understand the government’s latest initiatives and efforts.

Akademi Kenegaraan Malaysia (AKM) Director-General Datuk Dr Roslan Hussin said the programme not only involved government agencies but also the private sector and non-governmental organisations, which played a role in conveying accurate information to the community.

He said the programme would help keep the community informed and aware of the initiatives implemented by the Madani Government to assist people in the respective areas.

“With this programme, they (the community) will be aware of the educational opportunities and spaces available, allowing them to directly access services provided by relevant parties and agencies,” he told Bernama after officiating the Ukhuwah Madani programme at Kampung Darau here.

Roslan said the programme would be expanded to other areas, in line with its goal of fostering stronger ties within the community.

He said Sabah exemplified strong unity, with its multi-ethnic and multi-religious society living in peace and harmony.

Roslan added that mutual respect was a core principle of Malaysia Madani, and Rhursday’s programme, which brought together diverse groups, including youth, reflected Sabah’s strength.

“The agencies here play a crucial role in providing an accurate picture (of government efforts), rather than relying on information that may sometimes be misleading and cause public concern,” he said.
