Kota Kinabalu: The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) assured that every police report received is investigated in accordance with existing legal provisions.
Kota Kinabalu District Police Chief, ACP Kasim Muda, stressed that investigations are carried out in a professional and transparent manner to ensure that justice is upheld.
“PDRM is only responsible for collecting evidence, conducting investigations and completing investigation papers before handing over to the Public Prosecutor for further action.
“All parties should not make any speculations or statements that could mislead the public regarding the investigation and trial process of a case.
“PDRM is always committed to carrying out its duties in accordance with the law to ensure public safety and order,” he said.
He said the statement was issued to clarify ongoing investigation processes and to ensure that the public is not influenced by inaccurate information.
