10 GRS women’s names submitted: Some components didn’t submit any
Azizah said the final decision would be left to the party leadership and if any candidate was deemed unsuitable, they could be replaced.
Kota Kinabalu: Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) Women’s Chief Datuk Seri Azizah Datuk Seri Mohd Dun, said the names of 10 female candidates have been submitted for the coming 17th State Election (PRN), which could take place anytime this year.

“We have submitted the names to the GRS Chairman, Datuk Seri Hajiji Haji Noor. We will wait to see the decision of top party leadership. “Some component parties did not submit any names and we respect that decision.

“Some of the candidates are incumbents whom we wish to retain, while others are new faces. You can guess who they are,” she said after attending Institute Development of Studies (IDS) Media Appreciation dinner on Saturday.

She said the final decision would be left to the party leadership and if any candidate was deemed unsuitable, they could be replaced.

“We will follow whatever decision the top leadership makes because we trust that they have the wisdom to select the most qualified and suitable candidates. “Regardless, the GRS Women’s wing has been prepared from the start to work hard for PRN17, and we will mobilize our machinery to the fullest,” said Azizah.

She added that the GRS Women’s wing has already begun grassroots-level efforts and will continue working to ensure GRS’s success. Currently, GRS women hold four seats in the Sabah State Government Cabinet. Among them are Matunggong Assemblywoman Datuk Julita Mojunki, Kunak Assemblywoman Datuk Norazlinah Arif, Kukusan Assemblywoman Datuk Rina Jainal, and Tulid Assemblywoman Datuk Flovia Ng.
