Kota Kinabalu: A double-storey terrace house at Lorong Zirafah 1, Luyang Phase 2, here, was destroyed by fire at about 8pm on Thursday.

The house owner known as Chong, 53, was alerted by his tenant who was renting a room about fire in the house.

Chong, a retired accountant, told Daily Express that he was in his room upstairs when the incident occurred and he managed to leave the house to save himself.

His neighbours also vacated their house upon alerted about the fire incident.

Firefighters from Lintas, Penampang and Sembulan arrived to put out the fire. No casualties and the losses and the cause of the fire was being investigated.
