KOTA KINABALU: The City Hall (DBKK), in collaboration with the police, recently conducted a joint operation against unlicensed street vendors along Jalan Punai near the State Education Department building and SMK Likas.

A total of 24 personnel from the police and DBKK’s Licensing and Enforcement Departments participated in the operation on Feb 26.

Authorities identified four unlicensed vendors operating by the roadside, none of whom could produce valid permits, while inspections revealed poor hygiene conditions, with food waste and wastewater dumped into nearby drains.

DBKK seized the vendors' equipment and issued stern warnings against further unauthorised trading at the location.
