SANDAKAN: District police solved the murder of a 58-year-old woman within 24 hours after her body was found with head injuries at a squatter housing area at 5.30 pm, Sunday.

Police arrested the 31-year-old local male suspect on Monday evening in Mile 2, following public tip-off and intelligence gathered by the Sandakan IPD and D9 Criminal Investigation Branch.

The suspect is now in custody to assist with investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which carries the death penalty if convicted.
