SANDAKAN: A 12-door wooden workers’ quarters block at Jit Fu Sdn Bhd Factory, Kampung Seguntur, was destroyed in a fire on Friday.

Sandakan Fire and Rescue Station Chief, Severinus@Nidzam Sainkui, said his team rushed to the location immediately after receiving an emergency call at 10.17am via MERS 999.  

The fire razed a 12-door non-permanent workers’ quarters block measuring 100 x 30 feet.

“Firefighting operations were carried out using two 300-foot hosepipes with three water jets sourced from the fire engine,” he said in a statement.

The operation paused at 1.36pm and no casualties were reported.
