KOTA KINABALU: A school van was completely destroyed in a fire near St Thomas Church, Kepayan, this afternoon.

The Kota Kinabalu Fire and Rescue Department received the emergency call at 4.30pm and dispatched a team of seven firefighters, arriving at the scene within six minutes. 

Firefighters brought the blaze under control by 4.38pm using two hose lines connected to the fire engine’s water supply. The operation concluded at 5.02pm.

No casualties were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
