PAPAR: YB Datuk Juil Nuatim, State Assemblyman (ADUN) for Limbahau, conducted a site visit to the Kabang raw water intake to assess the progress of its upgrading project.

This project is being carried out to ensure an adequate supply of treated water in the Papar district, particularly during prolonged drought seasons.

These drought conditions often cause saltwater levels to rise beyond controllable thresholds, forcing the closure of the raw water intake for the EWSS Papar Water Treatment Plant (WTP) and Limbahau WTP.

With the increased capacity of the Kabang raw water intake, a stable and sufficient supply of treated water can be delivered to consumers from the EWSS Papar WTP and Limbahau WTP, especially during extended droughts and high saltwater level situations.

He expressed his hope that the project would be completed as scheduled so that its benefits could be realized by the community in the near future.
