Discount for diesel car servicing from March 15 - 29
PAPAR: Motorists who use diesel will enjoy a discount of between 10 and 30 per cent for the service of their vehicles at five selected premises in Sabah from March 15 until 29, 2025, following implementation of Ihsan Madani@ Petronas Auto Expert (SIM@PAX) Service Program in conjunction with Aidilfitri. 

Implementation of the SIM@PAX is a new government initiative of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) under the Rahmah Madani umbrella agenda that was first introduced during the recent Chinese New Year celebrations.

Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali said this program is a strategic collaboration between KPDN and Petronas aims to provide benefits to low-income groups facing cost-of-living challenges through savings on vehicle maintenance during major festive seasons in Malaysia.

Through SIM@PAX, he said consumers will have the opportunity to receive discounts on car service, ranging from 10 to 30 per cent below current market prices, including choosing either mineral or pure semi-synthetic lubricants,

“The SIM@PAX Aidilfitri program will run for 15 days, from March 15 to 29, 2025, involving 96 existing Petronas AutoExpert workshops across Malaysia.

“The locations of the participating workshops can be checked by visiting the website www.mymesra.com.my, and the public is invited to make early service appointment bookings starting today using the Petronas’s Setel app.

“In Sabah, there are five selected premises whereby each in Tawau and Sandakan and remaining three with each at Jalan Sulaman, Putatan and Jalan Papar Lama. A target of 10 to 15 premises will be established to carry out the vehicles maintenance service,” Armizan said.

On another development, Armizan said KPDN will step up enforcement efforts to curb any smuggling of subsidized goods to neighbouring countries during festive season.

“We will activate our existing cooperation with related agencies, including AKPS, which oversees border control, as well as the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (Maritim) and the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).

“We implement Ops Pantau within the country, while Ops Tiris is being conducted at border areas to prevent any elements of smuggling and leakage of subsidized goods,” he said.

Armizan was commenting on KPDN’S enforcement to curb smuggling activities of subsidised essential items to neighbouring countries.
