SANDAKAN: A 60-year-old foreign female detainee, who was arrested for illegally entering the country’s waters, was given the opportunity to visit her late husband’s body for the last time on Monday.

Sandakan District Police Chief ACP Ahsmon Bajah said the woman was arrested at 10.20pm on Sunday.

“She was detained while attempting to illegally enter through Taganak Island.

“The Sandakan District Police Headquarters brought the woman to visit her late husband, who was a local, at Kg Sundang,” Ahsmon said in a statement, Tuesday. 

The woman is being investigated under Section 5(2) and Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.
