Bung queries project announcements
Bung said Sabahans cannot be easily swayed by empty promises, especially when they continue to face difficulties accessing basic amenities that should have been addressed long ago.
Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Umno Chief Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor’s recent project announcements seemed to be politically motivated rather than genuine development efforts.

He criticised the State Government for failing to make progress on important issues, including water supply, electricity, roads and other basic infrastructure.

“Since taking over the State Government, these problems have not shown any concrete solutions. Instead, they continue to persist, affecting the people’s livelihood and Sabah’s economic sector,” he said.

He questioned the timing of numerous project announcements made by the State Government in recent months, suggesting they were timed to coincide with the approaching state election.

“Is this a genuine effort to develop Sabah or just an old strategy to fish for votes?” Bung said, dismissing the practice as Stone Age political tactics that are no longer relevant in the current era.

He said Sabahans cannot be easily swayed by empty promises, especially when they continue to face difficulties accessing basic amenities that should have been addressed long ago.

“If the State Government is truly serious, solutions to water, electricity and road problems should have been prioritised long ago, not just used as political capital ahead of elections,” he said.

He said Sabah Umno is committed to continuously advocate for the rights of Sabahans, while voicing his concern that the State risks falling further behind in development that should benefit the people.
