LDP: Political theatrics must not undermine due process
Chin said the people of Sabah deserve a government that is focused on development, not distractions created by politically motivated individuals.
Kota Kinabalu: Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) stands firmly with Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) and the Madani government in ensuring that due process is followed when addressing the alleged corruption scandal in Sabah.

While LDP supports all legitimate efforts to combat corruption, Its President Datuk Chin Su Phin cautioned against selective politicisation of allegations to undermine the stability of the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) government.

He said the public also must remain vigilant against individuals who weaponise corruption allegations to serve personal or political agendas.

“LDP will not stand by while politically motivated individuals attempt to disrupt Sabah’s governance as GRS and the Madani government have worked tirelessly to ensure stability, development and progress for the people.

“Allegations must be examined fairly and legally, not through manipulated narratives that serve hidden agendas. Justice must be served, but it must be done right — without bias, without shortcuts and without political theatrics,” Chin said in a statement.

He was commenting on a recent press conference featuring Latheefa Koya, former Chief Commissioner of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), who announced that Lawyers for Liberty (LFL) Executive Director Zaid Malek will be submitting unedited video evidence related to the alleged corruption scandal in Sabah to the MACC.

Chin said the people of Sabah deserve a government that is focused on development, not distractions created by politically motivated individuals.

“We urge the authorities to investigate the matter thoroughly while ensuring that the rule of law is upheld, free from external manipulation.

“Furthermore, the GRS administration remains committed to transparency and accountability but will not allow baseless accusations or media spectacles to derail Sabah’s progress.

“LDP also remains committed to protecting Sabah’s political stability and ensuring that justice is served,” he said.
