Man hurt in Kunak mishap

KUNAK: A 29-year-old man sustained injuries after the Proton Persona he was driving skidded off the road shoulder at Jalan Kunak-Tawau in an incident on Wednesday night.

Kunak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Chief, Mohamad Omarbatha, said they received an emergency call via the Mers999 hotline at 7.37pm.

A team of personnel, led by PBKII Rosman Gari, was deployed to the scene with an FRT and EMRS vehicle. The accident site was 28km from the fire station.  

“The fire and rescue team successfully extricated the victim from the vehicle and provided initial treatment.

“The victim sustained injuries to his right hand and was later handed over to the Ministry of Health (KKM) for further treatment at the hospital,” Mohamad said.
