LABUAN: An activist, Fauziah Datuk Din, gave the thumbs-up to Minister in the PM’s Department (Federal Territories) Dr Zahila Mustafa for directing all potholes in Federal Territories to be repaired within 12 hours.
She noted that following the move, even the Sabah Ministry of Works has begun attending to potholes following two deaths due to potholes in the State.
‘That’s what I’m told by friends there and it’s good that Sabah is following Labuan’s example,” she said. “The Federal Territories are important centres with Kuala Lumpur being the national capital, Putra Jaya the administrative capital and Labuan the financial centre.
Fauziah said it was not “impossible to have first class roads if hundreds of kilometres of highways/roads are maintained in top condition by concessionaires who are being paid hundreds of millions of ringgit.”
