Stranded vehicles highlight urgent need for infra repairs
Some of the vehicles stuck in line.
Long Pasia: A total of 58 vehicles were stuck for almost an hour on Wednesday morning along the road between Kampung Ulu Bole and Kampung Meligan, after a severely damaged section of the road became impassable due to a stranded vehicle.

According to local resident Rassian Ahundung, 62, the vehicles were unable to proceed from 8:26am until 9:45am. The blockage was caused by a car that got stuck in the muddy road, preventing other vehicles from traveling towards Sipitang town or Long Pasia.

“The vehicle was successfully removed at 9:45am, and we were able to continue our journey,” Rassian said. He also pointed out that the road conditions have worsened due to the frequent passage of heavy timber trucks during the rainy season.

Rassian further criticized the poorly maintained drainage system, which he claimed has allowed water to spill onto the road, making it slippery and muddy.
